5 Must-Experience Rooms at Sandals Resorts

Over-the-water bungalows. Many people think of Bora Bora or the Maldives when they think of these exotic accommodations, but did you know that Sandals has over-the-water bungalows at 2 of their resorts in Jamaica, 1 in St. Lucia, and 1 in Saint Vincent? In fact, there are many unique room types between the Sandals resorts and today, we’re going to look at just a few of them!

Last week, we talked about the basic room categories at Sandals Resorts: luxury, club level, and butler. Just as a recap, luxury rooms are the entry-level room category, club-level rooms include a concierge lounge and room service, and butler rooms come with personal butler service. 

Let’s start with over-the-water bungalows. You’ll find these one-of-a-kind rooms at Sandals South Coast (Jamaica), Sandals Royal Caribbean (Jamaica), Sandals Grande St. Lucian (St. Lucia), and Sandals Saint Vincent (opening in 2024). They include luxurious features like a glass floor that showcases the beautiful Caribbean water underneath, a Tranquility Soaking Tub for two, an over-the-water hammock for two, and they come with personalized butler service. I can’t imagine anything more perfect for a honeymoon or special anniversary trip! 

Next, we have swim-up rooms and suites. You’ll find these rooms at all-inclusive resorts all over the Caribbean, but they were originally popularized by Sandals! This type is always located on the ground floor of the resort and allows you to walk from your patio into a pool, which is usually connected to the other swim up rooms. It’s perfect for a romantic night swim or relaxing in the sunshine during the day. You’ll find swim up rooms at Sandals resorts in Jamaica, the Bahamas, St. Lucia, Curacao, Barbados, Saint Vincent, and Grenada. Depending on the resort, a swim up room could fall under either a club level or butler category room.

The SkyPool Butler Suite is another unique and absolutely gorgeous room type found at both Sandals Grenada and Sandals Royal Barbados. These rooms are located near the top floor of the building and each king bedroom leads into its own plunge pool with an infinity edge that looks out over ocean views. There’s also an opulent living area, a balcony with a Tranquility Soaking Tub for two, and an elegant bathroom. A stay in a SkyPool Butler suite includes 24-hour in room dining and personalized butler service.

If you’re looking for intimate and romantic, Rondoval Suites are a perfect choice! Many of these circular villas include a private pool, private patio, and butler service. They also include a living area, spa-style bathroom, Tranquility Soaking Tub for Two, and 24-hour room service. You won’t have to leave your room unless you absolutely want to! There are several categories of Rondoval Suites including beachfront, swim-up, and butler. Rondoval Suites can be found at Sandals Resorts in Jamaica, St. Lucia, Grenada, Barbados, and Antigua.

Last (for today), we have a brand new room type–the Vincy Two-Story Villa, only at the brand-new Sandals Saint Vincent, opening March 27, 2024. These two story water villas give guests privacy and incredible ocean views out front, with a lush rainforest at the rear. A day bed hangs over the water on the first floor, while the second floor has a dedicated viewing deck. A stay in one of these villas also includes 24-hour in-room dining and personalized butler service.
